"I went to L'Arche after college thinking I would help other people, but I soon realized that I was the one who was being changed into a better person. Day by day, I learned from the core members what it truly means to love unconditionally and find the beauty and gifts in each person. I left L'Arche forever changed and sought out ways to continue relationships with people with developmental disabilities, because it is through these relationships that I find the greatest sense of peace, fulfillment and hope for the world."

- Laura, Friends of L'Arche Atlanta President

Ways to Help Friends of L'Arche Atlanta

For L'Arche to be successful in Atlanta, we rely on the larger community to be in mutual relationships with the members of L'Arche Atlanta in many ways. We need you!

Consider if you can:

GIVE ... become a FOUNDING DONOR

We are excited to announce that in June 2010 we acquired our first home in Decatur! While we have been given the house with very little rental cost, it is in need of some major renovations before we can invite our first core members to move in. We hope to have the house renovated and licensed by the State of Georgia by July 2012. It may be 6-12 months after that before we receive approval as a new provider from the Department of Developmental Disabilities. Thus, we have a funding gap at a time when we have the greatest need to get the house ready. You can help give the gift of a day in L'Arche. Any amount you can contribute will move us one step closer to welcoming our first core members into our first L'Arche home in Atlanta! If you'd like to designate your donation in honor or memory of someone, please email us at info@friendsoflarcheatlanta.org.
