Friends of L'Arche Atlanta's Finish the House Fund 2011

FOLA is deep in renovations of the future L'Arche house and we are nearing the finish line! Here are some pictures of the work that is going on:
The many renovations on the Mead Rd. house include a new dormer which enlarged the bedrooms upstairs, a new kitchen with donated cabinets and a wheelchair ramp to the back of the house. The crew has been faithful to our timeline and has even volunteered to grill hotdogs and hamburgers for our first couple of workdays.
How can you help?
As we near the finish line, we need monetary donations to help us over the hump of furnishing the house. For our Finish the House Fund, we would like to raise $25,000 toward buying simple and comfortable furnishings for our beautifully renovated home.
Please consider a donation this fall to help us create a home for our first core members and assistants. We just received a family donation of $10,000 toward furnishings, which is wonderful news but we still have $15,000 more to raise and so we would really appreciate your help.
Examples of how your donation will be used to help us furnish the house:
- A gift of $2,000 would furnish a complete bedroom for a core member or assistant.
- $1,200 would help purchase appliances (we need 1 refrigerators, 1 freezer, stove, 1 washer/dryer
- $1000 would help furnish the beautiful porch and yard with rockers, swings, or Adirondack chairs.
- A gift of $500 would help upholster an oversized chair, buy rugs needed throughout the house
- $300 would help buy a piece of furniture like a porch rocking chair, a loveseat or furnish a bathroom, or buy a new lawn mower.
- $250 would buy a mattress or items like gardening tools and equipment.
- $200 would go toward things like a comfortable chair for our living areas or a a couch cover
- $100 would help us buy things like lamps, chair covers and kitchen items.
- $50.00 would go toward an outdoor chair or houseplants to cheer the house.
- $25.00 would help us buy shower curtains, towels or a bedside lamp.
